Last year’s flood was not selective. In addition to destroying thousands of homes and more than 700 small businesses, it also devastated many large corporations. One of the hardest hit of these was the area’s power company, Alliant Energy. The first floor of their corporate building and major power plants were destroyed, leaving much of the city without power. Through it all, Alliant worked day and night to restore power and get their employees back to work.

Almost a year later, Alliant has rebuilt the first floor of their corporate building. Taking the opportunity to rethink the function of the space, Alliant needed a new, easy to use wayfinding system. New directories and corporate identity signage had to compliment the new interior design. The directories had to be easy to update and memorialize the flood in a subtle way. Taking all of this into consideration,
The directories are manufactured in anodized aluminum, Plexiglas and clear stand-offs, and the corporate identity signs are brushed, black steel. Both complement the new sleek interior design. Blue Plexiglas pieces add a pop of color and speak to the blue and gold of the corporate identity. This new wayfinding system is the finishing touch to a beautiful, fresh, new space.
Presentations came up with six beautiful, functioning artwork pieces that fit these criteria. Each piece is a triangle projecting from the wall. In the lobby, these function as directories and information panels. Those moving down the hall display artwork for visitors to enjoy. The top of the pieces mark the height of the flood waters and reflect the subtle curve of the Alliant Energy corporate logo, enhancing yet another part of the corporate brand. To make sure the display does not remain stagnant, the information panels are easily changeable.

Restroom and room signs are a legal requirement. Take the opportunity to make them an expression of your business and an artistic addition to the architecture and interior design of your space.
Celebrating their 100 year anniversary, Furst McNess, a major independent agribusiness nutrition company, wrapped some of their semitrucks and took advantage of every opportunity to extend their brand. The moving billboard draws attention, as it travels the country, with a beautiful Iowa landscape photo and the Furst McNess logo. The graphic was adhered directly to the surface of the corrugated truck and can be easily removed without fear of damaging the trucks surface.
